UPS, is the official exclusive courier for COMPU-EXPO 2007 / FISTECH 2007 from all points in the world.  UPS will provide all the means necessary for your merchandise to arrive in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on time.  Package handling, heavy cargo, hardware equipment, storage of merchandise, transportation to and from the Santo Domingo Airport or Seaport, Customs clearance, Temporary Internment with exemption from taxes, Customs Guarantee Bond, these are some of the services your company can receive before, during and after the event, to guarantee your successful presentation of products and services in this International Fair. 

Temporary Customs Internment of Hardware to be displayed at COMPUEXPO’2006 / FISTECH 2007.

All displaying companies will have the right to import equipment, products and systems necessary for their display during the fair, into the Dominican Republic under the terms of Temporary Customs Internment, without having to pay the import duties required by Dominican Law.  The Customs requisites are the following:

A-   A- Pro-forma invoice containing each category of hardware or system equipment, with a clear description of each category.
B- The units imported into our country by category
C- The gross value of each imported item or category.
D- Total value of the invoice.
E- Name of the Company.
F- Address of the Company.
G- Telephones, Fax, E-mail
H- Representative in Dom. Rep., if any.
I- The RNC of the Company, if it is a Dominican company.
J- Original plus three copies.
K- Import Guarantee Document, for 5% of the total tax to pay.
L- Letter of authorization of importation as exponent of CompuExpo.

CompuExpo will issue the letter of authorization only to those companies who have paid the full amount of the cost for participation.

The merchandise imported temporarily, can be sold during the fair, but must pay the taxes corresponding to the importation.

Temporarily imported merchandise, can spend perhaps a month in the country prior to re-exportation.  If sold before the time set by Customs, it will pay the corresponding taxes.

If the merchandise is returned to its original destination, the condition of temporary internment is suspended and no taxes are paid.

It is important to indicate that Dominican Customs is signatory of the WTO and maintains current prices for the value of software and high tech equipment, whereby we recommend declaring the real value of same, in order to avoid unnecessary penalities.

UPS will take charge of all administrative procedures between the companies and Customs, in order for them to be transparent and efficient.

The company will be responsible for paying UPS for services rendered.
